A case of cementifying fibroma originating from left maxilla

Abstract
The cementifying fibroma is a mesodermal odontogenic tumor, which occurs frequently in female, and it is most often found in mandible.
It must be thoroughly removed at the time of diagnosis because it has frequently recurrence and expand to surrounding structures which leads to disturbance of it¢¥s function, although it is a benign tumor histopathologically.
The author experienced a case of cementifying fibroma, which was developed in maxilla in a 44 years old Korean female.
She complained of tingling sensation on left maxilla, marked swelling with facial deformity for 20 days after tooth extraction.
The Lesion was removed through Caldwell-Luc¢¥s approach and confirmed as a cementifying fibroma pathologically.
3 month after operation, the patient complained of mild visual disturbance, swelling on left maxilla more sever than preoperative state.
She was received re operation (radical maxillectomy).
By observation for about 17 months, it is uneventful.
